Spiced Pecans

Great as a happy hour snack, and also chopped up in a salad.

  • Ingredients:

    • 1/4 cup butter

    • 1/2 cup brown sugar

    • 1/4 cup water

    • 1 tsp. salt

    • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper powder

    • 2 tsp. Chinese Five Spice powder

    • 1/2 tsp. cumin

    • 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper

    • 4 cups pecans

  • Preheat oven to 325ºF (165ºC) and grease a large baking sheet.

  • Mix all ingredients except pecans together in a large pot and melt togethern on stove.

  • When the sugar is dissolved, add pecans to melted mixture and stir until thick (about 5 minutes).

  • Transfer mixture to greased baking sheet.

  • Bake 10-12 minutes, remove from oven and stir in a bowl or pan before completely cooled to separate the nuts.
